This means that if you are using either of the above-mentioned devices, you can expect the OTA of MIUI 9 to reach your device in a couple of weeks. However, if you don’t want to wait for the OTA, you can manually download the MIUI 9 ROM and flash it on your device. No, this is not any hack. Xiaomi Officially allows you to do it, and you won’t encounter any problem what-so-ever. You are basically installing the same Global Stable ROM, however, instead of waiting for the OTA, you are manually installing the ROM right now. So, if you are interested, this is how to install MIUI9 on Redmi Note 4 and Mi Max 2 right now Note Before you start the process, make sure that your phone’s battery is above 60%. Also, take a back up of all your apps and data in case something goes wrong. I tried the method on my Redmi Note 4 and it worked fine.
